And so the month of September comes to an end. A month that saw us get stuck in the 70s, meet Wham! and see the guy behind KawaiiPunk finally revealed, twice! It also introduced us to the fabulous worlds and works of Sugar Overkill, Prates and Petticoats, Fly Design, MaShusik and more besides. And let’s not forget the Sneaky Mascot in her cupcake caper puzzle. Did you manage to spot the matching pair?
Incredible! The answer was 3 and 9! Congratulations to everyone who got it right! Please feel free to celebrate your success by whatever means you deem appropriate for such an achievement, and remember to come back next month when we’ll have another fantastic puzzle for your enjoyment!
See you all in October.
Your host with the most,
Ed Mascot :)

We all know there are people out there who never seem to make mistakes. No matter what they do or where they go the sun always seems to shine on them. Around here he’s called the Lucky 7 Mascot :) For the rest of us however, and I definitely include myself in that category, mistakes and mishaps are an ever present part of our daily routine! But that isn’t necessarily a bad thing…
Welcome to the wonderful world of Itasho Erasers! At Itasho Erasers they’ve managed to make the act of making mistakes, not to mention fixing them, a joyous occasion! With amazingly cute erasers coming in all sorts of shapes, including burgers, fries, penguins, bunnies, biscuits, cakes and more, the good folks at Itasho could be accused of encouraging us all to make more mistakes! And I for one support them! After all, where’s the fun in getting it right all the time!
Always happy to make a misteak (Woops!),
Unlucky 13 Mascot :)

Dear Ed Mascot,
I am writing to you again as a follow up to my previous email (Re. Guy Behind KawaiiPunk Revealed!) and I must warn you, I am not a happy bunny! In our last correspondence you made me look like a complete fool by suggesting I could not tell the difference between a new and an old photograph, implying that the photo I had supplied you with obviously fell into the latter category. If that is the case, as you so adamantly state, then please explain this…
It’s another photograph of this so called Michael and once again, as I’m sure you can see, it clearly shows him as being no more than four years old! What’s more he is clearly wearing a Batman t-shirt! Given that Batman wasn’t created until 2009, I’d be very interested to hear your explanation of how this child can possibly be responsible for the KawaiiPunk empire, such as it is!
Mr. N Parker
P.S. Now who looks like a fool?
OK… I'm not entirely sure how to break this to you gently, so I’m just going to say it! You’ve made the same mistake again, this time with bells on! Not only is this clearly an old photograph of Michael, but Batman was actually created in 1939, not 2009. I sincerely hope this clears things up for you once and for all, although I fear I won’t be holding my breath!
Thank you for your email,
Please don’t write again,
Ed Mascot :)

Get ready everybody, it’s time for a tasty treat! No, I’m not talking about myself, although I do co consider my posts to be the tastiest around :) I’m talking about a crafty treat. A crafty Etsy treat, if you must know! Today we’re going to be looking at the amazingly cute work of a shop called Embellish Yourself.
Embellish Yourself is a slice of crafting cuteness that specialises in lampwork glass bead jewellery. Its range of super cute necklaces include designs featuring Teddy Bears, Apples, Flowers, Kitty Cats, and much, much more besides! But the best is still to come! As well as being able to pick up a tasty treat for yourself, you can also get one for your Blythe doll too! That’s right! Embellish Yourself also sell jewellery for dolls! Well… I did tell you this was going to be a tasty treat, didn’t I?
Making the world a cuter place,
Cute Mascot :)

OK people, time to put those brains to work. It’s puzzle time! This month the Sneaky Mascot is attending a custom car show where, joy upon joy, there’s a free cupcake promotion! Hurray! Unfortunately the promotion is limited to one cupcake per person! Boo! Never being one to play fair, Sneaky plans to get a dozen cupcakes by dressing up in 12 different outfits! Here, have a look…
Pretty sneaky, huh? But wait, in her haste to snag the free cupcakes Sneaky has gone and dressed up in the same outfit twice! Guess cheats really don’t prosper after all! Can you the spot the two identical Sneaky Mascots and help foil her diabolical cupcake caper? The answer will be revealed in this month’s monthly round-up!

Dear Stereo Mascot,
As a lover of all things musical I thought you might appreciate a look at this amazing piece of art I recently discovered while clearing out my loft. Granted, it has nothing to do with KawaiiPunk, or kawaii for that matter, but what the hey? It is Readers’ Art, and that’s what you’re asking for after all…
It’s a drawing of 80s pop sensations Wham! from the May 1985 issue of BEEB, The Junior BBC Television Magazine. Unfortunately I’m not sure which one’s supposed to be George Michael and which one’s supposed to be the other guy because people from the 1980s all look the same to me - big hair, bad clothes, by and large ludicrous! Anyway… I wish I could claim credit for this masterpiece, not least because they won £5, but sadly I have to let that honour go to Elaine Cherrison of Gloucester. Elaine, I salute you, wherever you are!
Matthew Masterson. Aged 34.
Hey Matthew, thanks for sharing this fantastic artwork, even if you didn’t draw it yourself! And Elaine, if you’re reading this, get in touch and let us know what you spent that £5 on! We’re all dying to know!
Your very merry mascot of music,
Stereo Mascot :)

A lot of people seem to think cute and punk don’t mix. Obviously these people have never met me :) Someone else these people have clearly never met is the designer I want to introduce you all to today. And they’ve proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that cute and punk not only mix, but get along like a house on fire!
This folks is just a sample of what is available at the fantastic MaShusik Zazzle store. And, as you can see by these Funky Punky designs, we now have undisputable proof that the worlds of cute and punk can exist in perfect harmony! Not only that, we also have proof that MaShusik is one of the coolest places to shop all your kawaii gifts! Enjoy!
See you all again soon,
Punk Mascot :)

Some of our more eagle eyed readers may have noticed a change to the KawaiiPunk Blog in the last week. No, I’m not talking about the new link image featuring the Demon Mascot, although that is pretty cool. I’m talking about the brand spanking new advertising opportunity! Well… what did you expect? I am the Money Mascot after all :)
That’s right! Now you can advertise on the KawaiiPunk Blog and promote your own blog, shop or website to upwards of 18 people per day! Can you imagine! That’s 18 whole people! One of whom may even click on your ad! What an opportunity! But the best is still to come! If you ever see the banner featuring myself (pictured above) being displayed, that means you can advertise for free! That’s right, it won’t cost you a dime! Just head on over to Project Wonderful, sign up, and you could be reaching literally a fraction of a handful of people everyday with the KawaiiPunk Blog! WOW!
Always bringing you the best bargains,
Money Mascot :)
P.S. The reader numbers quoted in this post are of a general nature and should not be relied upon as an absolute guide, although they are a regrettably accurate ball park figure at the time of posting :)

As someone who is constantly surrounded by good fortune I often happen to find myself in the right place at the right time - I guess I’m just lucky that way :) A recent example of my uncanny knack for finding fortunate happenstances occurred as I collected my winnings from my 417th consecutive lottery win. While passing an internet café I couldn’t help but find myself drawn to one of its many screens. On it I found this…
Once again Lady Luck had looked down and smiled upon me! This folks is the fantastic work of Fly Design at RedBubble. A vibrant and stunning collection of t-shirts from the Argentinean design studio. Realising that not everyone shares my talismanic talent I though I’d better share my good fortune with you. After all, what’s the point in being lucky if you’ve got no one to share it with? Enjoy!
Keep living luckily,
Lucky 7 Mascot :)

Dear Disco Mascot,
Please help! I’ve recently had to return to school which, after a long carefree summer of sun filled lazy days, is a real drag! No more afternoons hanging around the mall with my friends. No more evenings happily playing in the park. Nope, it’s back to school for me! Anyway… as a teacher I’m always looking for new and exciting ways to keep my pupils interested in the learning experience. This year I thought I’d teach them all about the 1970’s, but I’m worried they might find all the stuff about strikes and unemployment a bit dull! Is there any chance you could clue me in to some of the more exciting aspects of life the seventies and make my classroom a groovier place?
Well Miss Henderson, if it’s groovy you’re after, it’s groovy you’ll get! The 1970’s were awash with groove, and funk, and disco! Here’s my top 5 suggestions to get your classroom swinging, seventies style…
1. Dress the part! Break out the flares, platforms, hipsters and hotpants! Don’t just let the kids learn about the seventies. Let them wear it!
2. Eat the part! Say goodbye to those boring school dinners and crack out the old fondue! Fun and funky! And everybody loves a communal cheese pot!
3. Bounce around! Space Hoppers were the main mode of transport in the seventies, and are as practical today as they were then! Just make sure you’re not in a hurry to get anywhere!
4. Have a retro rebrand day! Buy some Starbursts and Snickers, and amaze your pupils by renaming them Opal Fruits and Marathon! WOW!
5. Solve a mystery! Solving mysteries was all the rage in the seventies. Scooby Doo and Hong Kong Phooey were always at it. Not to mention my personal favourites… Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels…
There you go Miss Henderson. I hope these tips help you and your pupils out, and make your classroom a hipper and happier place to be! Don’t hesitate for a second if you want any more, as I’m always happy to help!
Your seventies sensation,
Disco Mascot :)

The great William Shakespeare once said something profound about a name. I can’t remember what it was, but I’m sure it was very interesting! Anyway… a great name is always a good idea, so when I heard about a shop called Pirates and Petticoats I knew I had to take a look. I also knew it was going to be good, even before I got there! Well, with a name as cool as that, you know you can’t go wrong! As ever, I was right…
Pirates and Petticoats is an Etsy shop that is nothing short of eclectic crafting genius! Hand drawn cards sit happily next to loveheart speech bubbles while contented Pokemon pendants look on. Spiderman bags, ruffle skirts, and crayon necklaces are also in attendance. A perfect place to pick up an unusually cute and unique gift! This Freak absolutely loves it!
Your crafty treasure hunter,
Freak Mascot :)

Dear Ed Mascot,
I’ve been reading the KawaiiPunk Blog for a while now and find it mildly amusing. But enough praise! One thing that has always bothered me however is the notable absence of the person you refer to as “the guy behind the scenes at KawaiiPunk.” I believe you call him Michael. Frustrated by your lack of transparency on the matter I decided to do some digging of my own and found this…
It’s a picture of this so called Michael and, as I’m sure you can see, he can only be, at the very eldest, four years old!!! Are you to have us believe that this child is responsible for the KawaiiPunk Blog, website and myriad of shops! Because I for one do not believe this for a second! As an avid reader of this slightly above mediocre blog I demand to know the truth!
Mr. N Parker
Nice digging Mr. Parker! That is indeed Michael! What you’ve done however is confuse an old photograph with a new one. I’d say it’s an easy mistake to make, but given the size of his flares visible beneath the bench, I’d of thought no one would make it! Hope this clears things up!
Thanks for being a loyal reader,
Ed Mascot :)

As you know we KawaiiPunk mascots always like to bring you the cutest cuts of kawaii goodies, and we’ve all got our own speciality. Sweet reckons she’s got fashion stitched up, Cute swears she’s the best rainbow spotter in town, and Junior says he can spot a playground craze from a hundred paces. Me? Well I’m the mascot the others turn to when they’re looking for something cool. Which brings me to this…
This my friends is the Sugar Overkill shop at Zazzle. A shop packed with so many cool characters that you’ll never have to worry about your ice cream melting again! Although judging by the Cupcake Attack button, I wouldn’t leave any confectionaries unattended! As well as buttons the shop sells everything from t-shirts and mugs to postcards and bags. And everything in between! A must for fans of kawaii cool everywhere!
Take it easy,
Demon Mascot :)
