Oh the irony - it was the Lucky 7 Mascot! I guess good fortune doesn’t always shine down on him after all! Anyway folks… that’s all for this month, and year for that matter, but be sure to come back in 2010 when we’ll have even more tasty kawaii treats to fill your ever hungry bellies! Until then…
Have a happy new year everybody. Your host with the most, Ed Mascot :)
After my last correspondence (Re. Perfect Christmas Gifts for Girls!) you asked me to get in touch and let you know how things turned out. Well, after following your advice, and against my better judgement, I decided to buy Jennifer a Challenge Xtreme 2000W Heat Gun Kit as a romantic Christmas gift. I’ll let the note Jennifer sent me in return enlighten you as to the results…
Yes, thanks to your advice, I am now looking at the prospect of spending my New Year celebrations alone! And, to be honest, I can’t thank you enough! You see, while I was busy worrying about what to get Jennifer as the perfect Christmas present, it turned out that she thought the perfect gift for me would be a DVD of Mamma Mia! I mean honestly, what guy wants that?
Yours thankfully, Jamie Carmichael.
P.S. As you can see she also sent me the heat gun back - result!
Wow! I’ve got to admit Jamie, that wasn’t quite the outcome I was expecting! Still… it’s nice to know I’ve been of help, even if it was unintentional! (Tee hee!)
Have a happy DIY-filled new year, Mischief Mascot :)
As a highly intelligent master of all things logical it will probably come as no surprise to you that I am a fan of all things computer related. RAMs, ROMs, parallel processing, megahertz, gigahertz, CPUs, USBs, hard drives, disk drives, flash drives, and of course robots! That’s all very nice I hear you say, but what’s that got to do with kawaii? Well, take a look at this…
This, my fellow followers of fun, is the fantastic work of nani-kore? - and what heart warming work it is! Featuring robots, keyboard keys, and more besides this shop is a spectacular celebration of computing power and kawaii prowess! Yes, at the nani-kore? Zazzle store you can now shop for cute computing gifts on t-shirts, hats, badges and stickers. After all… who said computers can’t be cute?
Your considered kawaii calculator, Robot Mascot :)
Ho ho ho! At last, the day we have all been waiting for is finally here, and I for one am so excited I can barely type straight! Well, can you blame me? I mean… being the Snowman Mascot and all, I’m not really expecting to see a whole lot of blogging action over the summer months now, am I? In fact, this time of year is pretty much the only time I get to do anything around here! Not that I’m complaining, I love it…
So Merry Christmas everybody! Be sure to have a fun packed and festive day! Although remember to go easy on all those sweets and chocolates! And don’t forget to stick that turkey in the oven nice and early! And, as the Unlucky 13 Mascot always says, be sure to keep a first aid kit close at hand in case of festive emergencies :) Ahhh Christmas… if only it could be everyday!
Merry Christmas, From all of us at KawaiiPunk, Snowman Mascot :)
Seasons greetings everybody! Time for this month’s puzzle and, what with it being Christmas and all, I figured we’d better have a festive treat! So here goes! This month the Snowman Mascot has been out and about enjoying the snow. Well, winter is his favourite time of year after all :) But wait, it looks like a blizzard has rolled in, and that’s not all…
Wow! Am I seeing double? Are there two Snowman Mascots? Or, even worse, is there some kind of hideous marauding snow creature on the loose? Of course not! That would be crazy! But it does seem that one of the Snowman’s colleagues has been caught in the blizzard, and buried right up to the top of their head! The question is… which Mascot is buried under all that snow? The answer will be revealed in this month’s monthly round-up!
As an expert in all things romantic I thought you might be able to help me with a problem I’m having. You see, I recently asked a girl at school to go to the Christmas dance with me and she said yes! No problem there I hear you say, and you’re right! The problem is I don’t know what to get her for a Christmas present! Her name is Jennifer. She’s really pretty, she’s really funny, and she’s really nice! I want to make a good impression with my gift because I would love her to be my girlfriend. I was thinking about perfume, jewellery, chocolates or flowers as a Christmas present, but thought I’d better check with you first to make sure they were suitably romantic presents. I’d be extremely grateful for any words of wisdom you could share.
Yours sincerely, Jamie Carmichael.
Sorry Jamie, Lovestruck’s not here right now. But don’t worry, I’ll be more than happy to help with your problem. (Tee hee!) Because, believe it or not, I am also something of an expert when it comes to choosing the perfect romantic Christmas present, and you can forget all that perfume, jewellery, chocolates and flowers nonsense right now! Girls can’t stand stuff like that! (Ho ho!) So forget the Lovestruck Mascot, here’s my top 5 romantic Christmas gifts for girls to make a lasting impression…
1. Spiders! Girls absolutely love spiders! Even the mere sight of one will get them screaming with delight! And it’s certainly a present they’ll remember! (Tee hee!)
2. Football tops! Every girl loves fashion and what could be more fashionable than a football top. Preferably a garish away strip! (Chortle!)
3. Video games! Everyone knows that girls go crazy for gamers, so why not treat her to a slice of gaming goodness! I’d suggest a fantasy based strategic RPG, if you really want to impress! (Ha ha ha!)
4. Power tools! Girls absolutely adore DIY, and are never happier than when they’re knocking up a couple of shelves or whatnot around the house! Just picture her smiling face! (Chuckle!)
5. The Godfather Trilogy DVD Boxset! Forget Dirty Dancing and Love Actually. If it’s a romantic gesture you’re after, this is the gift that every girl dreams of! (Ho ho!)
So Jamie, there you have it. A master class in romantic gift buying. (Ha ha ha!) And as if that wasn’t enough, I can also reveal to you a truly romantic shop too! Check this out…
See? Just the ticket when shopping for girls! (Chuckle!) Be sure to let me know how things work out with you and Jennifer, because I can’t wait to find out! (Tee hee!)
Have a happy and romantic Christmas (Ho ho!), Mischief Mascot :)
Aaaarrrgh! Well folks it’s that time of year again. The time of year when our thoughts turn to gifts and presents for friends, family and loved ones. And thankfully you’ve got me to help you prepare! Yes, with only nine and a half months left until Halloween is once again upon us, we really should be making plans now if we want to avoid the inevitable rush. What? You thought I was talking about Christmas? I’m the Monster Mascot!
The Zeropumpkin shop at Etsy is the perfect place to make your Halloween celebrations go swimmingly. Their range of devilishly cute dolls includes Devil Bunnies, Zombie Bunnies and, my personal favourite, Skull Cats - diabolically good! They’ve even got paintings and stickers too! So if you can’t pick up your Halloween gifts here, and get ahead of the crowd, I don’t know where you can!
With the holiday season fast approaching I thought I would get in touch to wish yourself and your readers a happy and kawaii filled Christmas. After all, given the support and exposure you have given to me and my kawaiifying project, it seems the least I could do. So here it is - a piece of kawaiification that I think sums up the festive spirit perfectly…
Yes, it’s a kawaiified Christmas bauble presented for your festive enjoyment! I will hopefully be in touch again in the new year with further works of kawaiification although, to be honest, I still don’t know how I’m going to top my last post (Re. Kawaiification! Fun Guy Fungi!).
Yours sincerely, And Merry Christmas, Mr. Justice Smithering Smythe (retired)
Thank you your honour, it’s always a pleasure to hear from you. And if anyone can top your last post, I’m sure it’s none other than yourself!
Thanks again, And a Merry Christmas to you too, Ed Mascot :)
At the KawaiiPunk Blog we always strive to bring you the best kawaii goods we can find. And I reckon we do quite a good job, even if I do say so myself :) But of course there are many different kinds of kawaii out there and, believe it or not, it doesn’t always have to be sweet to be cute. Today I’d like to introduce you all to a designer who has managed to create her own truly unique kawaii style.
Hello again readers, and welcome to the party! Yes, in a whirlwind of a week that has seen the KawaiiPunk Blog celebrate its hundredth post, we’ve also just had the annual KawaiiPunk Chrismas Party! Well, it’s only right that I treat my fellow mascots to a fun day out at this time of year - it’s good for morale! This year I decided to forgo the clichéd restaurant trip and decided a day of hill walking in the beautiful but brisk Scottish countryside was in order for my kawaii co-workers. And, as you can see, they loved every second of it…
Yes, no sooner had we left the warmth and comfort of the KawaiiPunk office when my fellow mascots began bombarding me with requests to leave. Such was their enjoyment of this fantastic day out they just couldn’t wait to get back home to tell all their friends about it! At one point the Money Mascot even offered me £10,000 just to let him go home. Great fun! And a day I’m sure my colleagues will fondly remember for many years to come!
Boy or girl, young or old, there’s one thing that unites us all - cartoons! Yes, you may not have guessed it, but it’s definitely the truth. Much in the same way that people have a favourite food, drink, and some other obvious thing I can’t think of, everyone also has a favourite cartoon character. From Bugs Bunny to Spongebob Squarepants every generation has its animated heroes. Which brings me this…
This is the work of Onno Animation. Onno Animation is an independent animation studio from New Zealand who, through their fantastic Zazzle shop, are creating some seriously cute and cool characters for us all to enjoy. Their selection of t-shirts, cards and gifts are just the ticket for the cartoon crazed among us, and let’s face it, that’s pretty much all of us! Enjoy!
Hello readers, it’s your host with the most with a very special post! Yes, that’s right folks, today marks the 100th post for the KawaiiPunk - Kawaii Mascot Blog. Hurrah! Ummm… not quite sure what else to say to be honest. Oh man! What a time for writers block, huh? Ehhh… hope you’re all enjoying the blog? Ahhh… how about a picture? Yeah, that’ll work…
I’ve been reading this blog for a while now and have long felt that your contribution to it has been greatly, and wholly unfairly, overlooked. Not only are you the face of the Readers’ Art and Emails sections, but you also front the Ask a Mascot section too! And what thanks do you get? None! You don’t even get a Mascot Bio at the KawaiiPunk website! Basically you’re the Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer of Kawaii Mascots! Well, enough is enough I say! Take a look at this…
There! It’s a festive picture of yourself in a Santa hat to show that your work here is appreciated, by me at least, if not your colleagues! Now you can finally be part of this blog, and not just a weird looking face at the top of someone else’s posts - no offence! I hope you enjoy this artwork, and hope the future brings you more success. Perhaps one day we may even see you on a t-shirt!
Yours sincerely, Arthur D Pendleton. Aged 46.
Thanks Arthur, it’s nice to know my work here is appreciated, even if it is by someone who thinks I’m weird looking!
Getting what you want at Christmas is not always an easy task. Most people tend to go for the hint dropping approach which, although usually sound, does require the recipient to be paying attention - something that does not always happen, as I’m sure you all know :) So, this Christmas, why not dispense with subtlety altogether? And when people ask what you’d like, just do what I’m going to do, and show them this…
This, my sneaky sweeties, is just a sample of the fantastic jewellery available from the equally fantastic Indy Grrrl at Etsy. Pretty cool, isn’t it? As well as the adorable necklaces, earrings, bracelets, pins, and rings, Indy Grrrl also sells mystery boxes containing all manner of secret goodies and bonus extras - perfect! That way you can get exactly what you want and still have a surprise at Christmas! What could be better than that?
Bringing you the sweetest secrets, Sneaky Mascot :)
Ahhhh… the mists are clearing once again and this month they’re revealing something rather special - it’s the Ghost of Christmas Now! Yes readers, the time for speculation is over! Join me and my festive spirit friend as we present to you your holiday horoscopes…
AriesMar 21 - Apr 20 Indigestion and bellyaches await the greedy reveller this holiday season. Remember this when unwrapping those boxes of chocolates! Lucky Christmas present: 12 Drummers Drumming
TaurusApr 21 - May 21 Buying your loved one clothes may seem like a good idea, but if you don’t know their size forget it! Seriously, don’t even try! Lucky Christmas present: 11 Pipers Piping
GeminiMay 22 - Jun 22 The shop may describe it as the perfect “for her” gift but, generally speaking, women usually have enough candles to be getting on with. Just letting you know! Lucky Christmas present: 10 Lords A-leaping
CancerJun 23 - Jul 23 The shop may describe it as the perfect “for him” gift but, generally speaking, men have no need for slippers shaped like beer cans. Again, just letting you know! Lucky Christmas present: 9 Ladies Dancing
LeoJul 24 - Aug 23 While it’s true that kids love toys, very few of them actually consider educational books to be part of this group. You have been warned! Lucky Christmas present: 8 Maids A-milking
VirgoAug 24 - Sep 23 Perfumes, colognes, and toiletries are always good gift ideas at this time of year. Family sized packs of super saver soaps on the other hand… not so much. Lucky Christmas present: 7 Swans A-swimming
LibraSep 24 - Oct 23 A small glass of sherry before Christmas lunch is an acceptable aperitif. A bottle of sherry isn’t! Best remember this to avoid embarrassment. Lucky Christmas present: 6 Geese A-laying

Ahhhh… the mists return and the Ghost of Christmas Now takes his leave. Did your festive wishes come true? Until we meet in the next year, Mystic Mascot :)
Amazing! It was the Grumpy Mascot! Who’d of thought he’d of been the one to record T.J. Hooker for the Mystic Mascot? Anyway folks… that’s all for now, but be sure to come back next month for more cute treats, kawaii crafts, and lots and lots of Christmas craziness!
See you all in December. Your host with the most, Ed Mascot :)
Combining cute and cool to create the perfect kawaii has always been a delicate balancing act - a bit like making a cake. Add too much of a single ingredient and the whole recipe can go disastrously wrong. Just look at the Freak Mascot - one weird looking cake, if ever I saw one :) Anyway, at the risk of stretching this metaphor to breaking point and beyond, I’d to introduce you all to a true culinary kawaii master…
PandaPad manage to combine cute and cool in perfect measures to create some of the sweetest kawaii characters and designs you’re ever likely to see. Its collection of t-shirts, cards, mugs, mousepads and more are among the finest to grace the entire Zazzle emporium. And believe me, that’s one mighty big emporium!
With Christmas just around the corner, and you being a Snowman and all, I thought you might be able to help me with a festive problem I’m having. You see, since last Christmas my parents have gotten divorced. Don’t worry, this isn’t going to turn into a sob story - I’m 42 years old and very happy for them! Unfortunately however, for my bank balance if not my parents, they have also both remarried. This means I’ve suddenly inherited a whole new family which includes, but is not limited to, seven step-brothers and sisters (plus spouses), twelve nephews and nieces (three of whom also have spouses), and six grand-nephews and nieces! It’s a Christmas shopping nightmare and, to be frank, one I simply cannot afford! Please help me find a cheap solution to this potentially costly Christmas conundrum!
Yours sincerely, Ebenezer Rodgers.
P.S. I’ve also got a wife and kid of my own and, chances are, they’ll probably be expecting something too!
Ho ho holy moly! That is quite the pickle you’re in Ebenezer, but one that I’m more than happy to help you out of. You see, you don’t have to spend a fortune at this time of year to have a merry Christmas. In fact, many presents and gifts can be found and/or made that won’t cost you a penny. Here’s my top 5 cheap Christmas gifts…
1. Sock puppets! An old sock with a couple of buttons stitched on for eyes makes an ideal gift for a child. And is every bit as exciting as a PS3!
2. Homemade perfume! Bung a bunch of flower petals in an old bottle, add water, and shake! Ooo la la, is that Paris I smell? The ladies will love it!
3. Hanky hats! Tying four knots in the corners of an old handkerchief will make a stylish hat! Best remember to wash the handkerchief first though!
4. Pebble paperweights! The humble pebble, or stone if you don’t have access to a beach, makes an ideal paperweight! Practical, and pretty!
5. Toilet paper scarves! A single toilet roll can be used to make scarves for the whole family, and is a great accessory to a hanky hat!
There you go Ebenezer, one cheap Christmas signed, sealed and delivered. If however you choose to ignore the advice of this Snowman, be sure and listen to the words of my abominable friend before you hit the shops…
Wise words indeed! Eat your heart out Money Mascot! Merry Christmas everybody!
A lot of people often ask me what the definition of cute is. Well, with a name like the Cute Mascot, I am seen as something of an expert :) Unfortunately however, it’s not always an easy question to answer. Well, not an easy question to answer with words alone! Recently I’ve taken to answering this eternal conundrum with the help of a cute crafter from Etsy. So the next time someone asks you what the definition of cute is, show them these…
These are the incredibly cute and crafty creations of Magic Bean Buyer. Magic Bean Buyer is an Etsy shop that specialises in creating stunningly cute clay characters, or Plinis, that are so adorable they can only be seen as the crafting embodiment of cuteness! And, as well as being the answer to the question of cute, these beautifully hand sculpted and painted lovelies also answer another difficult question - what to buy me for Christmas! What ? You can’t blame a girl for trying :)
Always bringing you the cutest crafts, Cute Mascot :)
Yes people, it’s that time of the month again! It’s puzzle time - hurrah! And this month everyone’s favourite kawaii psychic, the Mystic Mascot, has got herself into a spot of bother. You see, while attending a crystal ball convention, the Mystic Mascot has realised she’s forgotten to set the video to record her favourite 80s TV cop show - T.J. Hooker. What a disaster! But wait, perhaps all is not lost. Using her crystal ball, Mystic plans to contact one of her colleagues and get them to set the video for her.
But wait, again! It looks like the Mystic Mascot is having trouble getting a signal from the astral realm. She knows which Mascot she wants to contact but, unfortunately, she can’t see them clearly enough to get the message through! Perhaps if we all tried to help her, by working out who she’s trying to psychically connect with, then the connection could be made. So the question is - which KawaiiPunk Mascot is Mystic trying to contact? The answer will be revealed in this month’s monthly round-up!
Ho ho ho! Santa Claus, reindeers, mistletoe, and all that other stuff! Yes folks, it’s that time of year again - it’s Christmas! Well, not quite. But it is the time of year we should be sending out our Christmas cards and gifts if we want to avoid the annual post office queue nightmare! And thankfully we can help…
Yes, thanks to myself and my esteemed colleague the Frost Mascot, you can now purchase some truly kawaii and Christmassy cards and gifts at the KawaiiPunk Zazzle and CafePress shops - hurrah! And, if you like Christmas as much as I do, you can even get some suitably festive t-shirts over at our RedBubble store - double hurrah! Merry Christmas everybody!
They say that falling in love is the sweetest thing that can ever happen to a person. And, as someone who has had more than her fair share of this experience, I have to say I agree wholeheartedly! For me there is nothing sweeter than meeting for the first time that truly special someone or something and knowing you were made to be together! As was the case when I found these…
These are just some of the truly adorable creations by the very talented Claclina at RedBubble. Her sweet and simple style and beautiful character designs combine perfectly to create a sensation of loveliness that is beyond compare! Pretty penguins, gorgeous giraffes, and dreamy dolls are all there waiting to steal your heart away. And I for one am more than happy to have it stolen! What’s more, I dare say you are too :)
Always loving the loveliness, Lovestruck Mascot :)
As the unluckiest of all the KawaiiPunk Mascots I though I would draw you a picture to cheer you up on this, the most unluckiest of days, Friday the 13th. Unfortunately, however, it seems your uncanny knack for misfortune is not limited to your own sweet self! For no sooner had I put pen to paper when… well, have a look for yourself…
It was supposed to be a happy picture of you winning the lottery, but I’m afraid it didn’t exactly turn out as I expected! First of all my pen ran out, so I used a pencil instead. Then the pencil broke, so I decided to colour it in using felt tips. Then my felt tips ran out! It was at this point I started to see a pattern emerging! Choosing to cut my losses I decided I’d better scan the picture, such as it was, and send it to you before any further mishaps occurred. That’s when the coffee got in on the act, hence the photo instead!
Offering you my sincerest apologies, Zachary T Cartwright. Aged 23.
Don’t worry about it Zachary. Things like this seem to follow me around wherever I go! And in a strange way, I’d miss them if they didn’t :)
Alright everybody, listen up and listen up good! You might be used to reading about cotton candy bunny rabbits and ice cream kitty cats at this blog, but today we’re going to have something different. Because today I’m in charge, and they don’t call me the Fierce Mascot for nothing! Today, boys and girls, we’re going to be meeting a couple of action packed adventure seekers that laugh in the face of danger! So stand up straight, pay attention, and don’t make any sudden movements…
OK everyone, at ease! These fine figures go by the names of Hiro and Ono, and are available to buy on t-shirts from the upstanding people at Tactical Urban Gears. And buy them you should, if you know what’s good for you! Because Hiro and Ono are no flower loving fluffikins - oh no! These guys are ninjas in training! Yeah, you heard me, ninjas! Dangerous, deadly, and above all else, decidedly cool! A couple of characters after my very own heart! Fantastic!
